New Beginnings–May (and a Finish)

Actually I’m going to start with the Finish.  Per my pledge at the beginning of the year, I’ve managed another finish for this month:

Alphabet Story quilt:

003

And when you open the ‘pages’:

004

Each ‘page’ has its own animal, and on the left side, a few more words beginning with that letter:

005

006

The words are written with fabric pen, and more words can be added as grandchildren wish.

But the pledge was first for a new start every month, and now that this one is done, I’m ready to break out the fabrics for another project.  I’ll be making another of these:

138.Diaper bag

Using these fabrics:

007

- to make a diaper bag for little Peanut, due in October.  Cutting begins today!

I’m linking up with Thea at California Dreamin’.

And in case anybody’s wondering – yes, we’re still waiting for little Gracie.  All the efforts earlier this year to help her to be patient until she was strong enough to face the world, worked really, really well apparently.  Due date is not actually for another week, so we know whenever she arrives now, she’s strong and healthy.  Actually on one of her last US exams, she was sticking out her tongue – guess she feels like she’s told us, hey!

Happy beginnings and endings!             Blessings, Peg
