I finally get to blog!
I've missed stopping by here every day, and I've had dozens of things pop into my head over the past week, but thanks to my intensely drowsy-ing (is there a better word for that?) medication, the blog topics popped right out of my head nearly as soon as they popped in. So it's good to be back among the land of the blogging, as well. And just in time, too, since TOMORROW is the big day. I know you've all been dying to see who's going to get those beautiful blankies, and I've got some calculating to do to see how many comments you've all made in the past month, but before I do, let me just say that I really appreciate all the comments everyone has made over the past two years. I had no idea when I started this little online thingy how addicting it would become, or how therapeutic, or how fun to connect with old friends as well as "meet" people from all over the country and the world! So, thanks, everybody! Today's your last chance to leave comments for tomorrow's big Giveaway, so go to town and fill up my dashboard! (Let me know what your color preference is, too, by the way -- and I've got two yellow blankies left that look pretty much the same, so that makes seven -- and keep your fingers crossed for the LadyBug Beauty! Even though Krystal will probably hunt you down for it, you might get lucky!)
Oh, and here's a little P.S. --Just to shake things up a bit, in today's comment I'd also like to hear about your childhood blankie. I know you had one -- everybody had a blankie in their early years, right? Tell me what it looked like -- and for a bonus entry, post a picture of it on your own blog so I can take a look at it. I'm trying to scope out ideas for future blankies, and you never know when inspiration is going to strike!

my childhood blankie? Holy cats you ask a lot of me woman... I could go on for hours about blankies of kids I taught (20 years in daycare, nannying, and preschool education... you get the picture...) but my OWN?
I'll ask my mom... or better yet - she's likely to drop by here since I showed her the ladybug quilt - she's welcome to tell stories on me (to a limit mom!)
I like all the blocked quilts... maybe have a slight preference for the dark blue... but seriously - you don't do ugly, so who's complaining?
I don't have a favorite color. MMM my favorite blankie was a hand me down from my two older sisters--so no I don't still have it. I do have a blog post about blankets--pictures and all--so if I'm up to it I'll post tomorrow.
Hey, I don't really have a favorite out of those, but I am really likin' that lady bug blankie! My favorite blankie I still have, as you well know. I have had her since I was under one, and it's almost in shreds in the corners!
Favorite color: red.
And I'm totally crossing my fingers for the "pastoral" variety of the ladybug blanket.
I don't really remember my childhood blankie much. It was some random 1970-ish print on a mint green flannel and I remember it had white ric-rack trim. It might have been raggedy ann and andy. My kids all have tricot blankets and they love them.
okay, okay... I DID have that big raggedy anne quilt that I slept under for years, until it fell apart... I don't think I cried when it had to be mended or anything, but it was comfy...
NOW however I have a favorite blankie - the world (or at least my family) knows better than to mess with Mom's Cozy :)
They are all my favorites! And I'm pretty sure that I didn't have a blanket when I was little, but my sister had this awful sheep skin for her blanket...does that count?
I remember when I was 5 or 6 I would cry when my blankie had to be washed and I couldn't cuddle with her.
I like the purple!
I had a really old, really soft yellow-ish blankie as a kid. And when I say yellow-ish, I mean that in the kindest sense of the word. It was a a faded ochre-and-baby-poo-green sort of color. An it had that satin trim around the edge that I would stroke until I fell asleep. Man, I loved that blanket!
GREAT TO HEAR YOU ARE KEEPING UP THE EXCERSIZING! I HONESTLY DON'T REMEMBER A BLANKET, BUT MY DAUGHTER HAD A FAVORITE WITH SILKY EDGES.
My blanket had nursery rhymes all over it. I actually had forgotten about it until just now. It is in a box in my attic. The corners are all pulled away because I liked to stick my fingers through them!
I like the ladybug quilt. I also like the blank and white with purple.
Oh-my blankie. Maybe I still have it...and it's still on my bed. Maybe.
It is (or rather, was) white with a satin pink ribbon around the edges. Apparently I had some weird issue that required me to suck on the edge---and every time it go real shredded, my mom would cute off the edge and sew on a new one. So basically, my once large childhood blankie is a small square that fits nicely over my pillow:)
Oh, I love the ladybug quilt. My Katie-bug (9 months old in 2 days!!) would love a ladybug!
My second choice would be the purple and black blocked blanket.
I did have a baby blanket as a child! I still have it up in my attic (no basements in Texas!). It was a nursery rhyme blanket with a soft green backing. The edge was a satin and is pulled away in the corners from me sticking my fingers through to hold onto it!
Even though the winners are already announced (throughout your blog), I still wanted to leave a comment on this post too. My favorite childhood blanket was a strawberry shortcake quilt made by my grandma. I have a picture of Rachel in the blanket, and someday soon I will post it on my blog. When it's up, I'll let you know.
P.S. My favorite colors are purple, red, blue, green...okay so really I just love all the blankets. I'm going to go search now for my name...with my fingers crossed too. :)
P.P.S. If I don't win, I still want you to know that I have loved leaving you lots and lots of comments this month. Your blog is one of my favorites to read too.
P.P.P.S. Glad you're feeling better!!
hehe... thanks for all the hints - am I pathetic? yes, probably - you don't have to answer that...
I'll go with yellow? yep - yellow. You rock :)
Sue I had a stuffed rabbit. I rubbed its ears on my nose to comfort me as I sucked my thumb. It disentegrated, so I don't still have it!
